Tipper creates music for the finest sound systems; bass fueled glitch that demands to be played at high volumes to unleash it’s lethal potential. With influences ranging from drum and bass, to trip hop through downtempo electronica, Tipper has created his own eclectic brand of devastating dance-floor tracks that have been admired for being “streaks ahead” and “expertly crafted” productions, whilst being “frightening yet refreshing…if it doesn’t move you check for a pulse.” Not surprisingly this unique and effective sound is in high demand.

Producing and performing live for over ten years, Noah Pred emerged from Vancouver’s underground as a sought-after techno DJ with a sophisticated sound and unique style. Devoted to authentic and soulful strains of techno in all its permutations, Noah’s sound continues to evolve while remaining firmly driven by the dance floor.
Since his first records were released, his productions have received international support, garnering critical acclaim while moving bodies across the globe. Based in Toronto since 2007, Pred has developed a loyal and devoted following for his potent DJ sets while running the digital imprint Thoughtless Music from his studio headquarters. Following his recent full-length on Thoughtless and performances at the MUTEK and Decibel festivals, Noah’s poised for exciting things in the year ahead – with his debut mix-CD for Thoughtless, ERA ONE, and his new EP for Cynosure, Lesser Lights, both due out Spring 2011.

Danny has been an instrumental player in the formation of what has been called the “west coast” sound. Danny’s influence has been felt from the early days of Moontribe in the Southern California desert to the acclaimed Symbiosis Gatherings in the Northern California forests. He is a recent transplant to Portland, where he is focusing on producing his own music. He is known for a cutting edge style that are is firmly rooted in syncopation and lower frequencies.

Janover is recognized as a true innovator. His considerable creative output includes: being a master of the ancient percussion stringed instrument called the hammered dulcimer, inventing and performing on an instrument he calls the “mini-kit” (a miniature amplified drum kit), playing pyrocussion (fire drums) and creating the RealmsMobile (a recumbent tricycle with the mini-kit attached, enabling him to ride and play drums simultaneously). By combining recent innovations in modern technology with the wisdom of ancient instruments, Janover achieves a balance between the electronic and the acoustic to create a unified field: music reflective of the nature of modern times.

The Portland-based artist saQi is a classically trained composer, producer and trumpet player. Drawing his name from the Sufi title for a mystic muse, saQi creates eclectic electronica that maintains a balance between organic and synthesized sound. His live sets rock the dance floor while maintaining a grace and musical depth to engage the listener. The music is never limited by genre, tempo or any other stylistic elements. Allegiance to the creative flow and its truest expression thereof is saQi’s manifesto.
For live performance saQi is often accompanied by the multi-instrumentalist/composer Russ Liquid as well as Taylor Aglipay on guitar and Saxophones. All three are composers and horn players for the infamous March Fourth Marching Band.

Set apart from other up-and-coming West Coast bass music producers by his extensive world-touring history and performance experience, Russ Liquid brings a much-needed injection of melody and emotion to the thriving dance floor community. Classically trained on the piano, trumpet, saxophone and flute, Russ Liquid applies the colorful tones of instrumental music to the realm of beats with dance floor-rocking results. This talented producer has found an entirely new palette to “paint” with, and now he seeks to bridge the gap between classical and modern music with new electronic technology and sonic possibilities.

A producer, composer, and one-man synthesizer attack squad, Solovox is the sound of Earl Carlton Tietze III. He starts with his own original music which spans the genres of house, glitch-hop, breaks, electro, cosmic funk, ambient, and downtempo acid jazz. He also remixes other artists’ tracks and throws those in for good measure. Then, in the live environment, he performs with live synth, organ, and piano playing that is like Herbie Hancock smashing head-on into the Chemical Brothers. Mayhem usually ensues, and he consistently delivers one of the finest live electronic shows available anywhere.

Kyrstyn is an Oakland/Portland based songstress/producer of a mystical- melancholy sweetness, a sonic fusion of all 5 elements, an anomaly of the wind and Yes, of gold and ashes, and of the beauty that is passing, she is a chameleon from chaos, creating live impromptu and/or highly produced sets attuned by subtlety, bliss, hilariousness, bass, cloudbursts, seahorses, and more! Resounding piano melodies, floods of fiery beats, poetic lyrics drawn from the blush of aethyrs, fuzzy puppets, sonic sojourns through the mysteries of the stone, crystalline silences, and a washboard to boot. Kyrstyn is one-of-a-kind. Most every set she writes and produces a few songs live on the stage, usually with a few hints from the audience. She just released her first full-length album EMBRYS.
Her unique new sound blends soaring and/or quirky song-writing with luscious vocal harmonies and vast hard-hitting electro-acoustic soundscapes. Imagine a meld of Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Sarah McLachlan, Fiona Apple, or Bjork backed by Air, Sigur-Ros, Plaid, Dead Can Dance, and Apparat. It’s a bit like that! She’s performed and released recordings with a wide array of contemporary talent including Beats Antique, Lynx and Janover, Auditory Canvas, Rena Jones, Saqi, Lila Rose, and more. Some of her past performance venues include the Schnitzer Concert Hall, Portland’s Blues Fest, Emrgnsee Music Festival, Lightning in a Bottle Festival, Priceless Music Festival, Cafe Du Nord, and more.
“The voice of angels rides to the depths of your soul on atmospheric beats of revelation. Light and dark are flawlessly merged with no conflict of duality in divine perfection. Her message is strong, inspiring and nectar sweet. TUNE IN, TURN ON & ENJOY THE RIDE!”

Dapper dipped low down beats coming from a smoke filled, crunked mothership from planet Xerflac! What Manoj would most want you to know about himself:
“I was born from the dancefloor and will always be a dancer at heart. I am continually moved and changed by the power of music and the many transformational experiences I encounter while dancing and performing. I now dedicate my life to share with others the blessings I have received. Realizing every opportunity to play music for others is a gift, I do my best to stay open, meet the dancers where they are at and then hopefully take them to a more inspiring, lighter and playful space within themselves as the music comes through.”

Portland’s trans-continental groove maniac. Spinning world beats at parties since the early 90s, and really throwing down at the Pyromid at Burning Man through the late nineties, GlobalRuckus has never been afraid to play songs that regular DJs apparently can’t conceive of. Favoring high energy world party music or perhaps the type of music you’d hear at traditional weddings, he’d work the dance floor into a frenzy playing klezmer, Balkan, calypso, New Orleans brass band, mariachi, bhangra, cumbia and more. His ever growing music collection now includes a variety of cross-cultural mashups and remixes of traditional tunes that have left audiences sweaty and exhausted around the globe, including Mexico, Nepal, Tibet, and recent gigs in Turkey and Switzerland. As a Portland ambassador of global beats he also hosts touring international sound DJs and producers at events in Portland, including dunkelbunt, Max Pashm, Gypsy Sound System, Filastine and more. Bring your dancing shoes.

Shovelman is a junkyard beatnik, a shovel guitar wielding surrealist folk superhero. Armed with a collection of pawnshop effects pedals and an old barn-shovel turned slide-guitar, Shovelman plays ol’ fashioned folktronica-grooves looped straight out of the ground. The sounds ofMississippi delta blues from the electro-psychedelic future, collide with the antiquated rubble of lyrical one-man-band hoboetry.
“Shovelman’s music would be playing on the radio if Tom Waits and Les Claypool ever went on a road trip together…… and were lost.” – Chip ‘So Wat TV’ Santa Cruz.
